- Oil Flow Via Iraq-Turkey Pipeline Seen Resuming In Days
ISTANBUL (IHA) - Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said Monday that repairing a pipeline carrying oil from Iraq to southern Turkey was underway, and oil shipments would resume in a few days.
Late Saturday, an explosion ripped through a pipeline carrying oil from Iraq to southern Turkey, sparking a fire.
The 970-kilometer (600-mile), pipeline runs from Iraq's northern oil hub of Kirkuk to the port of Ceyhan on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, from where the crude is shipped to world markets by tanker.
