İSTANBUL (İHA) - Turkey's exports rose 13.2% on the year in June to $9.173 billion, the Turkish Exporters' Assembly said Thursday.

Automotive exports fell 0.47% on the year in June to $1.369 billion while chemicals exports increased 23.02% to $1.053 billion and iron and steel exports rose 19.9% to $1.065 billion.

Industrial goods exports, which accounted for about 84.53% of overseas sales, rose 11.58% on the year to $7.754 billion, while shipments of agricultural products, which accounted for 11.72% of the total, increased 14.96% to $1.075 billion.

Exports rose 21.6% on the year in the first six months of the year to $53.346 billion.

In the January-June period, industrial goods exports, which accounted for 83.86% of total overseas sales, rose 21.06% on the year to $44.738 billion, while shipments of agricultural products, which accounted for 12.87% of the total amount, increased 15.79% to $6.868 billion.

In the 12 months to the end of June, the country's exports rose 2.02% on the year to $106.544 billion, the exporters' group said.

Exports are set to exceed $111 billion this year, while imports are expected at $138 billion.
