TURKEY'S KOC HOLDING TO INVEST TRY2.2 BLN IN 2010

İSTANBUL (İHA) - Turkey's largest conglomerate by sales, Koc Holding (KCHOL.IS), plans to invest 2.2 billion Turkish lira ($1.45 billion) this year, business daily Dunya reported Chief Executive Turgay Durak as saying.

The company will continue to focus on energy, automotive, consumer durables and financial sectors, he said.

The holding aims to increase its consolidated revenue by 18% and operating profit by 20% this year, Durak also said, according to the daily.

He didn't give comparative figures.

Companies operating under Koc Holding include Ford Motor Co. (F) and Tofas (TOASO.IS) in the automobile sector; Arcelik AS (ARCLK.IS), Beko (BEO.XE) and Demirdokum in the durable goods sector; and Yapi Kredi (YKFIN.IS) and Koc Finansal in financial services.

Koc Holding owns Turkish oil refiner Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (TUPRS.IS), or Tupras, and fuel retailer Opet.

The holding company has over 14,000 dealers, branches, agencies and retail-chain stores in Turkey, as well as operations in 30 countries. Koc Holding also carries out export activities in over 100 countries.
